During the eye exam,
we instill drops into your eyes to widen the pupils in order
to see the back part of your eyes better. Also for obtaining
a reliable value of your refractive error we put drops that
temporarily stop your accommodation. This may cause a blurry
near vision and sensitivity to light for a few hours. In
contrast to many hospitals and laser centers in Turkey, we
always use eye tracker for every patient. For eye tracker to
work properly the pupil should be in its natural shape and
size. Because of that, we wait for at least 4 hours between
the initial eye exam and the laser procedure. So if you plan
an overnight stay, it is advisable to make sure that your
plane arrives in Istanbul before noon.
2nd
STEP
 This
is the laser procedure step. Before the procedure, you will
be thoroughly informed about the procedure. We will prepare
you by explaining to you the procedure through the patient's
point of view.
Our psychiatry and NLP trained doctor will provide you the
support you'll need in the laser room. This service is
unique in Europe and exclusively available to EyeSTAR
patients. Besides the best LASIK results, we want you to
remember your LASIK experience as a pleasant one. We
recommend to you to bring the CD or tape of the songs that
relaxes you. We will play it during your LASIK procedure. We
may also hold your hand if this helps you feel safe and
comfortable. These are a few of the many things we do to
make you have an enjoyable LASIK journey. During the
procedure we encourage you to talk and express yourself. Our
staff can speak English, German, French and a little bit of
Spanish. For other languages we can provide you a translator
that will be with you all the time throughout your LASIK
journey. So please let us know beforehand your request for a
translator.
Don't worry! We will do our best for a happy LASIK
experience. You won't wait hours and hours. Don't worry for
your hygiene since we strictly follow GLP (Good LASIK
Practice) rules created by EyeSTAR. We are aware of the
centers and eye hospitals in Turkey and around the world
made just for profit and don't care about hygiene and even
expose their patients to greater risks like AIDS and
Hepatitis. We, at EyeSTAR, have not encountered even one
case of the mildest eye infection. As an EyeSTAR patient,
you will be treated as a VIP and your operation will be done
at conditions exceeding many famous centers in the US. The
drops you'll need after the operation will be provided by
us.
3rd
STEP
 Generally
after the LASIK procedure a few hours of discomfort is
anticipated. Normally this discomfort has been described as
a foreign body sensation in the eyes, burning and tearing.
But thanks to our new medication regime our patients do not
report to us any of these complaints but sometimes some
tearing. We recommend to our patients to sleep after the
LASIK procedure. In fact this is why we prefer doing our
procedures in the evening.
"The Wow Day":
You will especially enjoy the next day since nothing
compares to infuse the view of Bosphorus with your own eyes
while tasting a cup of Turkish coffee. Then you will really
appreciate the miracle of LASIK at EyeSTAR.
We schedule another
eye exam after the LASIK procedure in order to make sure
that everything is fine. After this eye exam, you are done.
In case of need, we can provide you a complimentary ride
back to the airport.
